Yes. I'm posting again. Yay me.
So what's new with me? Absolutely nothing. I think I should watch a movie while posting this, so as to not waste time. Or like, not waste time per se, but to make my time more valuably used. Something like that. Perhaps I should watch Spirit: Origins of the Past. Or whatever that movie was called.
BUT ENOUGH ABOUT MOVIES. Well, not really. I'll be talking about movies soon enough, just because that is partially the reason for this post. But you guys don't like it when I yap about movies all the time. Well. Anyway.
So, thanks to the lovely Banana Shoe, I am now tasked with the task of answering 5 questions about the following topics: World of Warcraft, BoA*, and James Bond.
01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?
02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?
And because I don't really follow these things to the letter, I'll be posting examples, youtube links, pictures, etc. etc. Anyway, let's begin!
World of Warcraft!
01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?
Hmm. I first heard of World of Warcraft way back when they were doing those beta announcement logs and all that. My exact thoughts were that it looked nifty, but the fact that it was pay to play was a big turn off. Cuz you know, back then it was like pay money? For video games? Naw dogg, I'm cheaper than that. And so I went onto play other, free games. Then the Burning Crusade expansion came out and everyone was like WOW THIS IS COOL! And etc. I'm sure all of my readers know how addicting World of Warcraft is and how it has a fanbase of 11 million players and...what not.
Anyway. So I had various friends who played World of Warcraft, and they were like it's really good! You should play it! And finally I got coerced into playing the free trial. Because it was free. And then I got hooked. And there we go.
02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
Blizzard keeps your accounts on account in case you ever want to come back. I did quit, come back, and quit again. I guess you can say I have moved on, and I don't know if I'd ever play it again. I do like the game, and it's fun, but right now not having anyone to play with is a big turnoff, and so if enough people want to play, I might be tempted into playing again. We'll see.
03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
There is a movie based off of the Warcraft universe coming out sometime. Since it is a Blizzard IP, I would assume that they would not want their first foray into the movie industry to be a complete flop, so I'm going to guess it's going to be pretty good. We'll see though. I guess I really do like my Death Knight character, and my Priest just because she's got all my stuff on her...yeh.
04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
Not really. I'm not "big" on the whole point of the game, which is the PVP aspects. I just collect pets and mounts and achievements and the like. And no one wants to discuss that sort of thing. Heh.
05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?
Sure? Why not? Blizzard already has the money of 11 million players, why not a few more?
BoA*
Excuse me if I get a little ranty on this. IT'S BoA*! C'mon now.

This is terrible. I swore off doing photos on this blog because I could never get the formatting right, but I guess this'll have to do. BECAUSE IT'S BoA*! PICTURES DESERVE TO BE ON THIS BLOG. I lost my BoA* picture library. =( I'm going to try posting this and seeing what it looks like. Ignore your update thingies or whatever. Not like anyone will be up at this hour, but still. Oh hey, it looks decent. OKAY. ONTO THE QUESTIONS. Yay BoA*, btw.
01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?
So I first met BoA* a couple years after her debut and all that. That was when she was 14 or 15ish. I was also 14 or 15ish. See, one of the great things about BoA* is she's MY age. I could easily keep up with her career, sort of. I'm only a couple months older than her, really. Anyway, I heard her song ID: Peace B
Honestly the music video isn't great. The Japanese MV is better, I guess, but I wanted to link the Korean song, cuz that's what I heard, amirite. And so I kept up with her. She's great. =D I started buying all her CDs and watching her music videos and all that stuff. And then when I started moving around and stuff I kind of lost track, she grew older, I grew older, etc. etc. Yeah. I should get back into BoA* though. She's the face of Asia, dontcha know.
02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
I guess I kinda did move on, because I was moving around and stuff and didn't have the opportunity to buy all the latest CDs and what not...It was also somewhat kind of depressing because she was supposed to have a concert in San Francisco but there some embezzlement scam and I got a fashion show instead. =( AND THEN SHE DID PERFORM IN SAN FRANCISCO.
WTH. AFTER I MOVE. I remember she used to teach her backup dancers how to dance, back when she was 13. I see she still has her moves. Although, this press into American territory is interesting. Her songs being all in English now. She was immensely popular in Japan and Korea and all. China, not so much, because her Chinese is not so good. Her English is pretty good though, for being quandrilingual and all. Where was I? Oh right, moving on. Nah, BoA* is still awesome. One day I'm going to go buy all the albums/CDs that I'm missing and catch up on everything.
03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
Well gee. Are you prepared to get bombarded by youtube videos? No? Too bad. =D
Did you know that BoA* was the voice for Heather in Over the Hedge? (The Korean and Japanese version).
Avril Lavigne was the English voice. Believe it or not, I'm an Avril fan too, but hay hay hay, we're talking about BoA* here. I watched Over the Hedge specifically because BoA* was the voice. But BoA*'s not an actress, not really. She's a singer! So, favorite songs? Gee well, there's so many that I like. I mean seriously. I like all the songs she's sang. Well, almost all. Here are a couple choice picks.
OMG KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
Darn. I can't find "Don't Stop Now". I think it's because it's a special song, and there wasn't a music video for it. Even though I remember seeing a music video for it. Darn it all. I'll just have to upload it myself sometime. =D
AND FINALLY, a personal favorite. =D
SHE WINKS. AT ME. =D
Okay. Let's get back on track here.
04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
No. SHE'S ALL MINE. RAWR.
05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?
No. SHE'S ALL MINE. RAWR.
Well that was quick. YAY BoA*!
Okay. Gee that was long.
What's next? James Bond.
01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?
I think my very first interaction with James Bond were those incredibly days long James Bond movie marathons on TBS. You know, those ones where they show like every single James Bond movie out of order except the ones that no one wants to see/spawn controversy? Yeah. And then Goldeneye starring Pierce Brosnan came out and it was like OMGAWD THIS IS SO COOL. Tank chase scene, anyone? Yeah, Pierce Brosnan spawned a brand new James Bond full of wit, charm, good looks, gadgets, everything that anyone wanted in a James Bond. Of course, this all went downhill when they started focusing too much on the gadgets and cool stuff and not on the man that James Bond was. Thus, the remake with Daniel Craig. But I digress!
02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
I don't know. I've got all the James Bond movies, and so I think one day or another I will come back to them and relive them again, just for some of the more memorable scenes (will be discussed in the favorites part). They are running out of titles from the books though, so we'll see how long the James Bond franchise can last, ey? They're already working on Bond 23.
03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
Ah. I think firstly, we have to talk about the greatest Bond car chase scene ever. My favorite anyway.
Man, seriously. I love this scene. It's so great. You've got the female voice trying to tell Bond to drive safely, a bunch of goons failing to stop Bond's invincible car, Bond chuckling at all the things he does, he's not even driving the car! Man. Great scene.
So I think one day soon, I will watch all the James Bond movies again in one huge marathon thing. But for now, let's stick with the basics. I think in terms of "favorites" we'll have to do it by favorite James Bond. There are 6 of them, after all. Honestly, I'm not particularly biased towards one or the other. Sean Connery defined the role with his suave manly ways. Roger Moore brought the reserved, older, humorous Bond to the table. George Lazenby was the authentic Bond. Timothy Dalton was the serious Bond. Pierce Brosnan was the witty charming Bond. And Daniel Craig was the confused (in a good way) Bond.
If I had to pick, I would say I dislike Roger Moore's portrayal, only because he doesn't seem right for the role of "James Bond". When I picture James Bond, I see a man in his 30s or so, black hair, the suit, the watch, and you know. He's charming the ladies, he's beating up the thugs, he's serving on Her Majesty's Secret Service. And here we have Roger Moore, who doesn't have black hair, (that's a minor point), but he's...I don't know. It's not serious enough, I guess. He just seems to take everything so lightly, I suppose. There's no real concern for world threatening situations. Sean Connery is my mom's favorite. He's a good Bond. You've got the womanizing, the smart, thug beating, the acknowledgement of serious situations, and at the same time he's got just a dash of dry wit. George Lazenby only had one movie, but the majority of people say that he was the most "true to book" form of Bond ever. I have personally never read any of the books, so I can't really say. His Bond is different though. Similar to Connery's, but there's a sense of...I don't know. Something. Dalton's movies were all based in America and he was fighting drug lords all the time...which was kind of weird. But he was more serious than Moore. Something that disappointed a lot, but something new, and for my taste, better.
Man, enough of this. I don't think any of you really want to hear my analytical statements on the various James Bonds.
04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
Nope.
05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?
Sure.
So, in conclusion, that's one long post for you to read. Have fun, readers! =D
